My Experience at the Kuika Hackathon 2024 in Istanbul

This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Kuika Hackathon in Istanbul. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I could feel the excitement. Most of my coworkers were present, including Sule and Elçin, making it feel like a reunion. Still, I was equally thrilled to meet new people from various backgrounds, all united by a shared passion for innovation.

Although I’m not in the tech world, being part of the Kuika team allowed me to contribute uniquely. My role focused more on the artistic side, which added a creative dimension to our project. One of the highlights was being brought up on stage with my team to showcase our work. At that moment, I felt an immense sense of pride to be part of the Kuika team, seeing our collective efforts recognized and celebrated in front of an audience.

Navigating the crowded space was a bit challenging, but I was grateful for my coworker Dilaraa, who helped me maneuver my wheelchair through the busy venue. Her support made it much easier to focus on the event and connect with others without worrying about the logistics.

Another standout moment was witnessing the diverse presentations from different teams. Each project showcased innovative solutions, and I was particularly fascinated by how Kuika was utilized creatively. The variety of approaches highlighted the vast possibilities within the tech space, inspiring new ideas and perspectives.

What I loved most about the hackathon was the collaborative spirit. It wasn’t just about competing; it was about learning from one another, sharing knowledge, and pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible. Working alongside Sule, Elçin, and the rest of the team reinforced this sense of community and creativity. I left feeling inspired and proud of what we had accomplished together, excited to apply everything I learned to future projects.

This experience reinforced my belief in the power of community, creativity, and the constant drive to innovate. I can’t wait for the next Kuika Hackathon.
