Finding Strength and Sisterhood with Ebru Abla and Romeo

Fear is a powerful thing. It can hold you back, make you doubt yourself, and stop you from experiencing something truly incredible. I know this all too well because I almost let fear stop me from meeting two of the most important companions on my journey—Romeo and Ebru Abla—at Güneş Binicilik.

The first time I met Romeo, I was struck by how magnificent he was. He stood tall, strong, and confident. But his size and power were also what intimidated me. The thought of riding him filled me with anxiety. I couldn’t imagine getting on his back, and frankly, I didn’t even want to try. The fear was just too overwhelming.

Enter Ebru Abla. From the moment she introduced herself, she had this calming presence that made me feel safe. There was something about her that put me at ease, even in the face of my overwhelming fear. She didn’t pressure me; instead, she encouraged me to take things at my own pace. Ebru Abla assured me that it was okay to be scared, that it was normal. Her patience and gentle encouragement were exactly what I needed.

On that first visit, I didn’t ride Romeo. I watched him from a distance, trying to calm my nerves and get used to his presence. But even though I didn’t ride, Ebru Abla didn’t give up on me. She believed I could do it, even when I didn’t believe in myself. She invited me to come back, and I left Güneş Binicilik with a promise to myself that I would try again.

When I returned, I was still nervous, but something had shifted. Ebru’s words of encouragement had lingered with me, and I felt a little stronger, a little braver. With her by my side, I decided to face my fear.

As I approached Romeo, something incredible happened. It was as if he recognized me and chose me. There was a connection between us that I hadn’t felt before. It felt like I was his person, like we were meant to do this together. That feeling of being chosen gave me the courage I needed. I climbed onto his back, and as I did, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. It wasn’t just about riding a horse—it was about overcoming a fear that had been holding me back.

But that wasn’t the only thing I gained that day. During that second ride, I realized I had also gained a sister in Ebru Abla. The bond we formed was something I had never experienced before, a connection that felt so natural and strong. With Ebru’s support and Romeo’s gentle acceptance, I felt like I belonged there, like we were meant to do this together.

From that day forward, I knew that with Ebru and Romeo by my side, I could conquer anything. The experience wasn’t just about the ride; it was about learning to trust myself and push beyond my limits. Every time I think of Romeo and Ebru Abla, I’m reminded that fear doesn’t have to define me. With the right support, a little courage, and a special connection, I can face any challenge that comes my way.

Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t let fear win. Meeting Romeo and Ebru Abla at Güneş Binicilik has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. They’ve shown me that with trust and determination, anything is possible—and that’s a lesson I’ll carry with me forever.
