This past weekend, our family celebrated two special occasions: my Aunt Selen and Uncle Gokhan’s 40th wedding anniversary and my Aunt Selen’s birthday! It was a double celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

From the moment I arrived, the excitement was palpable. The venue was beautifully decorated, featuring photos of Selen and Gokhan from their wedding day and snapshots from their amazing 40 years together. It was a touching reminder of the love they’ve shared and nurtured through the decades.

As the celebration began, I was surrounded by family—my cousins, aunts, uncles, and everyone who meant so much to us. The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter, conversation, and the smell of delicious food. It felt like a reunion as we all caught up, reminisced, and made new memories together.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the day was when my aunt Selen reflected on her and Gokhan’s journey together. Hearing about the love, dedication, and resilience they’ve shown each other over the years was incredibly inspiring. Their love story is a beautiful reminder of what a true partnership looks like.

As the evening went on, the dance floor lit up! Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, joined in, dancing and having a blast. My cousins and I took turns showing off our dance moves, and the room was filled with joy and laughter as we celebrated.

And of course, we couldn’t forget the cake! It was a beautiful centerpiece that marked the 40th anniversary and my aunt Selen’s birthday. As we sang “Happy Birthday” to her, the happiness on her face was clear. She’s always been the heart of our family, and celebrating her on this special day made it even more meaningful.

As the night came to a close, I reflected on the strength of our family bond. Celebrating Selen and Gokhan’s 40 years together, while honoring Selen’s birthday, reminded me of the importance of love, family, and cherishing every moment we share.

Here’s to my aunt and uncle—Selen and Gokhan thank you for being a shining example of love, showing us all what a healthy marriage is supposed to look like and what the true meaning of family is even when it’s not always blood-related
